HELPING OTHERS SMILE
These days so many people have just too much handle and cannot be a part of every good initiative or charity that they see or hear about. At Tassie Smiles Dental we believe that returning back to the community should be an important part of every business.
By supporting us all of our patients have an opportunity to be a part of HELPING OTHERS SMILE.
Proverbs: 31 8-9
8 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.
9 Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Tassie Smiles Dental is a proud supporter of Global Care Africa.
Global Care Africa exists under the Global Care umbrella and in partnership with To The Nations (TTN). Global Care is the social aid and disaster relief arm of International Network of Churches (INC).
Global Care Africa is a self-funded organisation committed to helping those who have NO HELP. We rely heavily on the support of those of us that are more fortunate than the men, woman and children that they assist in African Nations. This is achieved through the collection of used/secondhand school equipment and medical supplies (none contaminated) which are shipped back to the particular African town or community that is being helped.
The tales of waste in our health services are enough to make your ‘nails curl’, but somehow members of Global Care Africa are able to fill a 40 foot container with school supplies, medical supplies, secondhand hospital beds, wheelchairs etc and various other vital supplies. These containers are bound for the most needy and impoverished nations in Africa. So far Global Care has been able to touch people in Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Malawi & Swaziland.
Once all that hard work is done, collecting the supplies, the really tricky staff starts and we have to raise the $15,000 needed to ship the container shipped over to Africa… And this is where our amazing donors, like you, come into play.
Our only funding comes from public donations and fund raising events. These containers are completely dependant on your generosity in order for them to reach their destination village in Africa.
If you feel prompted to assist with a Tax Deductable donation we would be extremely appreciative and grateful. Direct deposits from as little as $4/week (a single cup of coffee) up to whatever you feel is appropriate, will make a tremendous difference in the lives of the people we touch. At Tassie Smiles we have set ourselves a goal of rescuing one girl a year from a horrendous
life of abuse, neglect and maltreatment through an organisation called Destiny Rescue.
Destiny Rescue is a grassroots, internationally recognised, Christian based, non-profit organisation dedicated to rescuing children from human trafficking and sexual exploitation. They help rescue the sexually exploited and enslaved, restore the abused, protect the vulnerable, empower the poor and are a voice for those that can’t speak up for themselves.
They currently operate our various programs in six nations: Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar (Burma), India and Mozambique. They also have offices in two donor nations: Australia and the United States.
Their efforts are making a huge difference, too. They’ve rescued hundreds of children enslaved around the world, helped keep hundreds more from entering the sex-trade through our various prevention programs, ensured justice for those that have been wronged and have raised awareness to untold numbers. And, they’ll continue to expand to help reach even more children in the days ahead!
Destiny Rescue realises that human trafficking is a big problem globally with up to 27 million men, women and children enslaved in its deadly grip today. With that said, we’re determined to set captives free worldwide. As long as children are being sold into the sex- trade, and poverty that drives at-risk children into prostitution exists, Destiny Rescue will be fully committed to fighting for their freedom, restoration and offering them a chance to dream again.
